What if the rumored Pixel and Pixel XL phones would run Chrome OS? And Android apps on top of the Chrome OS kernel?
I think that would be amazing.
It would mean that Google finally will get control over both hardware and software. Killing the fragmentation.
It would also mean that all devices will get fast OS updates and security updates. Exactly as it works on Chromebooks.
And all Android apps will work on all devices. On all Android phones from third-party manufacturers, the Pixel phones and all the Chromebooks.
And who knows, maybe it will mean that the Pixel phones will get a lot better battery life too?
