The Preparation Phase

When the screen refreshes, you will be greeted by the new Crosspoint UI. The transformation is immediate. The interface is highly responsive to both physical button presses and touch inputs.
First Steps in Crosspoint
Diving into the system settings reveals why this firmware is so beloved by the e-reading community. Core features like KOReader sync are readily available, making cross-device library management a breeze.
You'll also want to connect to Wi-Fi right away to take advantage of the font manager. Downloading custom fonts directly to the device—like the excellent "Bitter" typeface—takes just seconds.
But the absolute killer feature of this beta is the lighting control. By simply swiping down from the top of the screen, you can access an intuitive lighting menu. The granular control here is outstanding. You can dial the brightness all the way down to a true 1% and crank the warmth slider to the absolute maximum.
