Apple vs Android wars - what's the point and why do some popular users start them?

Apple vs android

I am an Android user, and has been that for a year (before that, 5 iPhones, 5 years in a row), but I am also a Mac user and has been that for 7 years.

And it is very tiresome to see all these Apple[1] vs Android[2] wars going on everywhere. Even on my posts. Do they ever get tired of this?

I always post what I like and think is interesting, I don’t care if it’s about Apple or Android, as long as it’s interesting, I will never stop doing that.
I will keep doing that even if I loose followers every time I post about Apple on Google+, as I’ve seen happening every time. Or all the thousands of followers I lost when switching to Android a year ago. I don’t need those users, they are nothing to me, if they are such big fanboys that they can’t take me posting about the opposite of what they like, then I can really be without them. Seriously.

And what makes me sad is when big and popular users and some websites do post after post bashing Apple, just to have these wars going.

What’s the point in that?Building up their following crowd or what?

To me that is just one way destroying the trust in them. They are very close minded to me. They are not credible anymore. They don’t recognize that they destroy their reputation.

I won’t switch back to iPhone as long as Android is a more interesting and fun operating system, and as long as the iPhone is too small for me, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t stop posting about it.
