It seems that Apple will also release a 13-inch Macbook this year that will join the 12-inch model in the portable lineup.
Noted KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple to launch a next-generation 13-inch MacBook model in the third quarter of 2016, which would expand the company's thin-and-light lineup directly into 13-inch MacBook Pro territory.
According to the very reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo will Apple stop the development of the Macbook Air after releasing the 13-inch Macbook. The Macbook Air will become the cheaper entry level alternative. At least for a while longer until it vanish as an alternative altogether.
That's a bit sad to hear really. The 11-inch MacBook Air has been my favorite device for years and I still use one from 2012 as my main computer.
"It will definitely have more than one USB-C port"
But yes, the new 12-inch MacBook is an amazing replacement, and the coming 13-inch will be a great option for those who wants a tiny bit bigger display. And the 13-inch model will definitely get more than one USB-C port, longer battery life, better FaceTime camera and some other things the smaller 12-inch doesn't have. I'm sure of that.
