About eBook Reading on normal Phones & Tablets without e-ink

In this video I talk about my experience of reading ebooks on normal smartphones and tablets. I recently bought a cheap Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 android tablet to read books in the Storytel app with my book streaming account. But I ended up not using it because the screen was too bad, so I use the iPhone and iPad instead for reading books with my Storytel account. And I must say that I am impressed of the user experience. The books, the text looks gorgeous on my iPhone and iPad. And with reduce white point, True color, nightshift and focus mode, the eye comfort and experience is as good as it can be on an e-ink e-reader like the Kindle or Kobo. And I love reading in landscape mode on my iPad Air so I get two column mode. I also love reading in Apple Books and a new app for me called Yomu. Apple Books has a really nice feature called Match Environment that adjust the backgrounds to where you are depending on how much light there is. And Yomu has an excellent feature that makes it possible to add your own online Look up and dictionaries services. And Yomu supports OPDS so you can add your Calibre server.

These devices is for inside reading only though. Outside in direct sunlight you need a real e-ink e-Reader to read comfortably.
