What Is SynthMaker?
SynthMaker is a graphical programming environment for creating VST instruments and effects plug-ins.
You can also use SynthMaker to learn about and experiment with digital signal processing so it's a great educational tool as well.
There are 3 main highlights to this release. First there's a new component for saving and loading preset data to and from text files. This provides a very flexible mechanism for manipulating preset data.
There are more fixes to the voice management, the key one being a 'stuck notes' problem that many of you were experiencing.
Finally, streams now work through buses. You can now make changes to the bus channel names and the schematic will automatically relink. This now makes it possible to implement the matrix routing solution that some of you had been attempting and there are some new modules in the toolbox to demonstrate this.
Additions and fixes:
– New Preset Text File component for saving and restoring preset data, now fully integrated with Preset Manager module
– Switching a Multiplexer or Selector in a mono section was not initiating a relink correctly resulting no sound
– The voice management was holding notes when playing quickly one after the another
– Streams now work through buses
– Buses now work with streams through wireless links
– Adding, moving or deleting links between bus connectors was not forcing a recompile
– Front panel drawing order changes were not syncing correctly causing crashes in some cases
– The Index Selector was redrawing even when when it's parent module schematic wasn't visible
– The whole vst front panel was redrawing in some exported VSTs even when the plugin window was hidden
– Fixed a crash if invalid MIDI message are sent to MIDI Out
– The MIDI Event component wasn't using the correct input channel
– The Gui Drop List wasn't updating strings until after load all
– Adding an ASIO In component would sometimes cause a background hiss to be heard even when no ASIO Out was present
– The software wasn't fully closing ASIO correctly on exit
– ASIO In wasn't enabling channels 3 and upward
– The level meter module has been updated and added back into the toolbox
– Updated the Preset Manager module with a trigger blocker to stop preset changes being made twice
– New 'C' shortcut key for the code component
– New filename input to the File Dialog component
– Fixed some edge graphical glitches notcieable when moving knobs on selected modules when zoomed ont
– Removed some superfluous fill modules from the Rectangle module
– Added before and after preset change triggers to the Preset Manager component to allow you to handle preset changes more efficiently
