Here is a first post in a new series I call Musings & Thoughts. It's made up from notes made by me in the Drafts app for iOS. It has a cool "journaling" feature by appending notes to the same text file in DropBox. I am not sure I will do this weekly, but I will do it from time to time.
About the Drafts app for iOS:
Testing to tweet with the great text editing app Drafts for iOS - Works great! See my post about Drafts Here.
Drafts is a Text Editor / Note Taking app that makes it really fast and easy to type text and send it to any app or service. It’s my new favorite app. It’s in my iPhone dock now. That is how good it is.
Amazing, with Drafts I can write a complete blog post using MarkDown and then just choose “MarkDown Copy to Clipboard” and paste it in BlogPress and hit send! Very fast. The copied text is in HTML converted automatically from MarkDown[1] :)
By the way, this comment is written in Drafts and pasted into the Google+ app :)
And one of the best features is Dropbox[2] append. That means that you can append notes to the same text file saved in your DropBox account! So that could be good for Journaling for example. Really cool.
Here’s the problem with apps: They create too many different ways to do the same thing. When you want to do something basic like write a short note, you have to take another step. “I want to write a note. Okay, which app should I use?” That step takes up time and brainpower, distracting you from what you’re trying to do.
Tries the Terminology app integration in Drafts:
Word: synergy
the working together of two things (muscles or drugs for example) to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects.
About why I choose the iPhone:
To me it’s not about choosing phone by hardware. It’s about choosing the right phone based on Eco system, apps and content.
About the new Garmin update for the iPhone:
Garmin’s GPS apps is not available in our App Store strangely, but Navigon’s that use is. And they look even better and already have Google Streetview and the rest. Garmin own Navigon so maybe Garmin “steals” Navigon’s features now?
About the new A6 CPU in the iPhone 5:
The A6 CPU in the iPhone 5 is totally customized by Apple.
It turns out that the chip is indeed homebrew, and laid-out manually at that, not by a computer - a process, which is way more expensive and takes much longer, but results in faster processors.
So this is not just a normal Arm processor, this is made to be as good as possible running iOS 6.
Why hasn’t Google updated the Google+ app for the iPhone 5 yet?
Why hasn’t Google updated the Google+ app for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 yet? Was Chrome more prioritized or what?
I hate that the Google+ app is not updated for the iPhone 5 yet.. It makes it harder to reply to comments because the black stripes at the top and bottom puts the keyboard in the wrong place so my thumbs doesn’t find the right buttons. Annoying.. Follow me on Google+ here.
I have switched back to Instapaper from Pocket again:
I’m back from Pocket to Instapaper[3] again.. It simply is a higher quality product. It feels quality in every detail. And I love quality. I live by quality. This time I won’t switch again (probably).
My new Mid 2012 MacBook Air 11-inch has finally arrived!:
My new 11-inch MacBook Air has arrived :) so I think I need to drive home and do some unboxing :)
And start the migration assistant ;)
Here is my unboxing of the latest 11-inch MacBook Air (late 2012). And also a short comparison with my late 2011 model. And also “unboxing” of a new bag for the MacBook Air from Ally Capellino :)
