The iPhone 5S display will have twice the pixels of the iPhone 5

A new rumor says that the iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6?) display will have twice the pixels of the iPhone 5. That sounds incredible, but it is actually not so strange. It just means that the next iPhone will have a resolution of 906 x 1606 pixels instead of 640 x 1136. So not so much higher resolution as it sounds.

But how will Apple solve the problem with the apps then? iOS apps doesn't scale as good as Android apps does, so will the developers need to update all their apps to the new resolution again? It is a huge drawback for iOS, that every time Apple  changes resolution, the apps needs to be updated...
