Apple has released iOS 8.1.1. Mainly a bug fix with stability and performance improvements, but it also make older devices like the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s be able to run iOS 8 without less lag. Hopefully my iPad Air 2 also stops freezing so hard that I need to do a software reset from time to time… I've been using iOS 8.1.1 for a day now and no iPad Air 2 hangs yet, so hopefully it's fixed. According to Apple, iOS 8.1.1 will improve performance for older, A5-powered devices running iOS 8, namely the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s; Apple’s current selling iPod touch first released in 2012 is also powered by Apple’s A5 chip. The update appears to be without issue unlike the botched iOS 8.0.1 rollout.
