It seems more and more likely that the next iPhone, the iPhone 7 won't have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
With Apple's next-generation iPhone rumored to ditch the legacy 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, one Chinese accessory maker is hoping to capitalize on the anticipated switch, and is now advertising a series of Lightning-to-headphone adapters with separate volume controls.
Personally I am more worried that all the external microphones that uses the 3.5mm headphone jack won't work anymore. For example my Rode smartlav+. I need that microphone to record my vlogs.
It doesn't seem as these lighting to 3.5mm headphone jack adapters support microphones. They need to have some kind of analogue to digital converter for audio input for that to work.
That worries me a lot. I don't want to buy new expensive lighting microphones because of this. That will be one more reason for me to not upgrade this year if that's the case.
