I think I will give up on Science Fiction Space Operas. I have tried a few times now but I don't get it. I simply don't like these books. They start interesting but quite fast I lose interest. They get boring.
It's the same thing with Proxima by Stephen Baxter. Starts interesting but then gets boring. It's probably nothing wrong with this book if you like Space Operas. It simply is nothing for me.
Personally, I think Science Fiction is better on movies and TV series and Anime. That's quite odd because I love reading books.
Techo thrillers and other Science Fiction than space Operas is another thing though. I like those.
