Testing to connect my Samsung Galaxy S8+ to a monitor using a USB-C to HDMI adapter and it seems to work great.
It's kinda cool to be able to use a Wireless keyboard and a large display while typing. Works really good too. My Samsung Galaxy S8+ is definitely a very portable computer! My main computer. If you want to work as you do on a normal desktop computer, you actually only need a wireless keyboard and this USB-C to HDMI adapter, and of course your phone too ;)
