My brand new Samsung 55-inch 4K UHD Smart TV UE55RU7105 from 2019 has the Apple TV app installed and supports AirPlay 2! It works great! I like it a lot.
So, there is no need for an Apple TV box anymore, and this TV is so fast so that the apps you have installed is so fast and smooth. And 4K UHD video works great too. Even in Plex. And also 5.1 channel AC3 sound works on this TV. I really like the Smart TV UI on this one.
AirPlay 2 is also very useful. Now I can easily do screen mirroring from my iPhone XS Max. And send video content and more to the TV easily from my iPhone.
