2020 iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max could be thinner

Apple plans to release 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch iPhones with thinner OLED displays in 2020, according to a new report. Sadly it looks like the iPhone 12 Pro Max (or what it will be called), will not have a larger display than 6.7-inch that I’ve been hoping for. I wish they could do the bezels smaller to have a display size near 7-inch. Yeah, 6.7-inch is bigger than 6.5-inch, but anyways :)

The report claims the so-called iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max models will adopt a Samsung technology called Y-OCTA that allows touchscreen circuitry to be directly patterned on the OLED panel without the need for a separate layer, resulting in a thinner display and lower production costs.

The latest iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max is really heavy and thick, so of course it will be great to have them a bit thinner again.

The year 2020 will be the year of the iPhone anyways, with a lot of new great things. For example a 5nm chip that will make the iPhone have a lot better battery life. Hopefully they will not waste that battery life on silly things like 5G. It’s way too early for 5G.
