It's always a real pleasure going back to Kobo e-Readers after using Android based e-Readers for a while
I love e-Readers and the pleasure reading ebooks on them. There is a lot of different brands to choose between and I have quite a few of them. But there is always a real joy going back to Kobo e-Readers running KOReader after using Android based e-Readers like Onyx Boox Palma or Bigme B751c. The reason for that is that Kobo e-Readers can only do one thing and are built for that, and that is reading books. Nothing else. Everything always works without problems on a Kobo ebook reader. On Android based e-Readers there is always some bugs or stuff that doesn’t work as it should. For example auto rotation and buttons. It only works as it should in some apps and in others it doesn’t work at all. No matter what you do or choose in the settings it simply doesn’t work as it should. For example in book streaming apps like Storytel, Bookbeat or Nextory. These apps simply don’t have support for that. I wish they would but they don’t. And some apps are always more laggy than simply using a Kobo e-Reader. It doesn’t matter if you use KOReader on an android based e-Reader, auto rotation and buttons doesn’t work as it should sometimes anyways. It always works on a Kobo e-Reader.
Yes I can handle those quirks and drawbacks on Android based e-Readers because I like to use book streaming services like Storytel, but user friendliness and user experience will always be better running KOReader on Kobo Libra H2O or Kobo Clara 2e, or any other Kobo e-Reader.
